Greenland Turbot is caught mainly on the Western, Northern, and Eastern Coasts. The largest fishing areas are off the Northwestern and eastern coasts.
Even though Greenland Turbot is a flatfish, and both of its eyes are on one side, it can actually see forwards quite well. Most flatfish species this large swim vertically, but Greenland Turbot prefers to swim horizontally. One can say that the Greenland Turbot is a Round Fish in Spirit, but a flatfish in appearance.
Common size of Greenland Turbot is between 80 and 100 cm and weigh around 25 — 50 lbs. Some individuals are able to grow larger, upwards of 120 cm and 100 lbs.
Greenland Turbot prefers to eat Capelin and Shrimp but also has a taste for Prawns, Cod, Redfish, and Squid. It will travel between the bottom and the surface quite often, exposing them to more sources of food.
