Plaice hunts by digging itself into the sandy ocean floor and striking its prey when it comes too close. The skin on its ‘eye side’ allows it to camouflage itself when it is hunting, except you can see its eyes peering out of the sand like two rocks.
Common size of Plaice is between 30 and 50 cm and 3 lbs. Some individuals can reach 100 cm and weigh up to 15 lbs.
Plaice likes eating Shells, lobsters, shrimp, sea start, and small fish such as capelin.
